Barenaked Ladies
Barenaked Ladies is not a name that you'd expect to be associated with children's music. These guys are outstanding musicians for growns-ups but have recently branched out into writing cool songs for kids. Their album "Snacktime!" must be included in your kids' music collection. It won a Juno Award in 2008 in the Best Children's Album category.
One of our favourite songs from the album is Pollywog in a Bog. (For all those people who live outside the US and Canada, a pollywog is a tadpole!) The youtube video for the song is excellent:
